What year did GM change the hose mounting flange on the LT1 A/C compressor from a flat flange to a stepped flange? (The high side of the hose assembly has a thicker flange...assuming this is to help prevent leaks due to a problem with the flat flange design). I have a 93 LT1 that the compressor has a flat flange and my hose assembly was ordered for a 96, not realizing the difference in the mounting flange. I'm hoping to figure out if more than one year Corvette got the revised design to help me find the correct flange that bolts to the compressor instead of buying a new hose assembly since GM obviously made the change for a reason.

Thanks for your help!

I am not sure what years the changes were.there is a washer sealing kit available from gm to address this condition. they are different thickness washers you just need to use the right combination of washers so the manifold is parrallel to the compressor surface. hope this is what you are talking about Steve
