The vette has just recently started acting silly once warmed up. When the car is started cold the car runs fine. Once warmed up she hesitates... bad. She will start skipping and missing. When run like this for a while the Service Engine Soon light comes on and then it smooths out. Any ideas?

I put the ECM into diagnostic mode to see if there were any codes. Turning the key the it runs though systems. It displays the following

1. C12 <--- This is no current DTCs
4. H44 <--- Code stored in history???

Not sure what the 44 code is as it doesn't match anything in the manual.

I drove the car tonight until she started hesitating and then put it into diagnostic mode again. Restarted the car and didn't get any codes, still C12. I was initially thinking this could be an opti prob, but then again, she runs fine when totally cold and I would think the opti would throw a code.

DTC 44, Bank 1 (left front) heated oxygen sensor (ho2s) #1 circuit..Lean exhaust indicated. H44 is a history code. Best to start with the wiring 7 checking all connections. The 95 manual lists other possible causes, water in the gas tank effecting injectors, bad injector, low fuel pressure, exhaust leak, problem with air system.:eek

Thanks Rabbit. Where did you get the code definition from? I have the service manual, but didn't find this code in it.

Helms factory manual. Book 2.
Pg. 6E3-A-95 Driveability & Emissions.

Thanks again. Is there a central location in the manual with all the codes listed? Tell me I don't have to stumble through the manual and hope I find the code somehow.

this sounds a bit opti related... BTW, that mechanic I use in melbourne is back on the job... you may want to give him a call.

Thanks Bob. I haven't had the need for a mechanic yet. But I will keep him in mind. Also, my mechanic has a 94 or 95 Z28 with the LT1 so he's pretty versed with the engine.

I was thinking opti originally as well, but the O2 sensor code will have me doing some troubleshooting tonight to see if that is causing the problem.

Factory manual...Book 2.

Starts in section 6E-1 Driveability & emissions & runs thru 6E3-C14-2 for vin P. Starts DTC 11, 6E3-A44 to A-244. That shud about cover it.
