How hard is it to replace the plug wires on my 1992 LT1?
just turned over 100K.It seems as though the car has just lost some spunk over the last couple of years, ready to retune her!

I hear it's very hard to reach. If not a real serious do-it-yourself
mechanic with pain and experience, pay a good mechanic.

It's a PITA.
There's lots to work around or remove just to get at the wires.
I agree with sothpaw on this one.

This thread describes what the basic things are that I did when replacing the plugs and wires on my 92 roadster.

It is not a fun job, but it is doable with lots of perserverance, bandaids and beer (more beer than the rest :D )

The factory GM wires should be toast by 100K miles and if you still have the OEM plugs, the platinum pucks on the ground electrodes will have disappeared after around 25-30K miles. Get MSD 8.5mm Superconductor wires and NGK TR-55ix Iridium plugs.
