Last week I finished installing a LT4 cluster in my 96 LT1. It wasn't all that difficult, just time consuming so I broke up the job over a two day period.

Now I'm able to monitor my RPMs up top.

Well worth the work.

Sounds like an interesting job. So...everything works the same just you have higher rpm's to look at?

That is very cool! Did you go with the OEM cluster or an aftermarket one?

SAVE THE :w

The cluster is OEM unit out of a LT4. Yes, everything works exactly the same as it did with the stock cluster. Even the mileage remains the same, since it's not stored in the cluster. It was a straight swap into my 96; nothing had to be changed or modified - out with the old and in with the new.

I had to make a move to the LT4 cluster because with the new engine I built, when I nail the throttle in 1st or 2nd gear by the time I glanced down at the stock tach the needle was pegged.
