LT4 LT4 Corvette....the good the bad the ugly?????

1996 LT4 Topic
They all need HVAC programmers. The A/C will blow though the wrong vents. Very annoying, and the 96's have a specific problem, were as the 95's and below are vacumme problems.

tnt,

Overall, it’s been a great car, just needed to get things sorted out. The LT4 is a strong engine, I’m starting to believe the rumor that they were underrated by GM. I've run 13.2 @ 107, this is with a full tank of gas. Only modification is a K&N air filter.

Happy Hunting!

Have to agree on the LT4 330 HP being underrated too. Had a pair of Grand Sports, Cpe. and Vert., both sold in 02. Had the Cpe. on a dyno with 4K on the clock. It pulled 307 rear HP, do the math yourself, does not equate at normal 12-15% drive train loss. Never had a prob with either one, the LT4 was one of the best GM ever made, IMO.

Dinosaur oil is what some people call non synthetic oil. Comes out of the ground instead of the chem labs.

Actually, ahem, synthetic oil is made from....drum roll, please....the same crude oil that every other synthetic material, and conventional (dino) oil is made from.
"Chem labs" don't just conjure up nice synthetic oils from the air. It comes from the same base stocks, pumped right out of the ground, as conventional oil.
