You own the whole road and it's yours to use. You pass state police parked along the way at 120 + and just wave - they wave back. That's a kick.
tuna, I've heard you talk of that race on the GSR and I think I may have to look into that next year..it sounds awesome!!!:upthumbs

My wife and I have a great time doing open road runs. Too bad we only get one chance a year to drive like that. 40% of the cars entered are Vettes - it's almost like a Corvette event!

The problem most people have is getting to the open road races - most are 'out west' in places like Nevada and Utah. The one we attend is in Ft. Stockton, Texas and that's still a full days drive for us to get there even from Oklahoma.

One of these days I'd like to attend a real road course for a driver instruction class and use my own car. It's a lot harder on the car (and you) but I've got to do that one day.

In the meantime, we 'air out' our cars every now and then on a quiet stretch of highway then once a year we average 110 or 120 for about an hour at a time.

Corvettes were just made for this sort of thing and they do it easily - too easily some times.
