I have never taken the wheels off myself on my corvette. Getting ready to install different rims. I notice the lug nuts currently dont' look real. They look plastic. Do you just put your socket on the plastic, or does the plastic pop off? I don't want to damage the plastic if that is what it is.

Your lug nuts do have plastic covers. They will unscrew easily with your lug wrench to expose the real lug nuts. When you replace the plastic covers, don't use very much force. Just snug will do. (I guess we shouldn't be too surprised to see this on a plastic car!)

Thank you, I appreciate your help.

What's been said matches mine. I'd suggest you take them off and have a look as mine has one on each wheel replaced with a wheel lock. On mine, you need that special adapter to take off the wheel. Just a FYI.
