LuK Clutch kit....and what is this for???

Received my LuK clutch kit the other day and the kit included a pilot bushing and also a really, really thick washer. It appears that this washer (for lack of a better term) goes onto the trans shaft on the small diameter part...the same diameter that goes into the pilot bushing. My 81 assembly manual does not show this part, and there was not one present when I took the old clutch off.

So do I assume that other applications use this "washer" but the Corvette does not and just throw it away????

Pitch it - you don't need it - must be for some other application.
