Looking for a C5
Looking at my first C5, it has authentic Mag Wheels. Can someone tell me what the great advantage is over other types?

I don't necessarily think they look knock-out gorgeous, so I assume this pricey option has to do with other benefits.

Also, any unique thing I should be looking out for when buying a pre-owned one of these beauties?

Thanks
Kjm

Hi there,
Magnesium are lighter than aluminum.
They also carried a premium price tag. 2000 or 3000, depending on the year purchased.
They are also harder to repair, if damaged.

Wow, that was a quick reply, thanks. Yes, it was a $2000 upgrade in 2001.

Any market to sell them if I wanted something different?

I would be interested in purchasing them from you...however I don't even have my C5 yet...still sitting on the dealer's lot waiting for me to hear back from the bank on my loan...my buyer to hear back on money for my car...etc...etc...

mag wheels

you can easily sell them on e bay....or an the corvetteforum
i recentky got rid of mine..a pain to fix and easy to chip and scratch
good luck

I have the wheels and like them but they are a pain.
I'm looking fro a second set

The Mag wheels are a holder-over from the past. Very expensive, and now superceded by better made aluminum wheels such as the 2003 Z06 wheels.

Sell them now before the appeal goes away.
