Hi,

I'm selling my 78 Silver Anniversary for a 2004 coupe (I hope I don't miss the 78 too much!) The 2004 Vette I'm looking at has the Magnetic Selective Ride Control. I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on this option. The car will be used for mostly highway driving to work and Sunday driving around town. It's not an inexpensive option so I wanted to get some feedback before I spent the extra dollars.

Thanks!

Yes, it is smoother, especially when pushed a little bit. You will not be disappointed in a C5.

There are 2 modes with MSRC - Tour and Sport

Tour will make the roads feel like they were repaved since you drove on them last!

Sport is more like a Z51 feel - not as stiff but there is a very noticable change in the feel of the car.

I love it. Wish I could retrofit it on to my old 92!!!

If/When I buy that new Caddy STS, it's coming with MSRC also.

The best part about the F55 (MSRC) suspension is that you can change the settings on-the-fly without having to stop the car. It is literally a flick of the switch to go from Tour to Sport

I have the F55 on my 2004 Coupe and am very impressed. My experiences with my old 1990 Coupe with FX3 had me doubting the value and effectiveness, but a test ride on our rough Wisconsin roads quickly allayed my concerns. After a month of driving my car (I had driven older C5s without this option in the past) I am convinced that it was well worth the money - both in ride comfort and performance.

The mag selective drive settings are subtle , but the best way to really experience it is to ride any vehicle on a familiar road then take the vette on the same road and you can't believe how great it really is.

My wife has a 2004 Commemorative w/ F55 I have a 00 without. We were on the Bloomington Gold road tour a couple weeks ago and approached a 45 MPH curve. I went into it at 60 and had to brake a bit in addition to crossing the dbl yellow line. She went into it at 65 and accelerated thru the turn without crossing the line. She said that it held the road marvelously.
Nuff said! It does work!

Picked up the 2004 yesterday with the F55 option and what a great ride. While in Tour mode the car just had a great ride. Smooth and firm. The car felt tight but not harsh. I was very impressed. The Sport mode is truly a sport mode. I felt much mor ein tune with the road. The ride was stiffer ina good way. I'm glad I got the option. The ride is really impressive
