having a problem with my 88 4spd. the main cooling fan in coming on at 130. the car is stock. i believe the temp gauge is correct, the fan comes on a few minutes after starting it and letting it idle. Please help.

I would have the switch on the AC unit checked. If you look at the back of the AC compressor its at 11 oclock. If that switch is staying at ground the fan will stay on.

Would the A/C switch be the problem even without the A/C being turned on? I can turn the A/C on before the temp gauge reads 130 and the main fan will come on like it is supposed to. Could it be the temp sending unit by the throttle body?

Pull the connector off the compressor and see it that switch is shorted, turning on the fan.

A switch was mentioned that was to be on the back of the compressor, I don't see it. I see two switches on the a/c line. One small and one large. Could one of these two switches be what he was talking about? If it is one of these switches, which one and can they be replaced without opening the a/c system? Also if this switch is bad would the a/c system still work properly? My a/c system seems to work just fine. Can anyone tell me how to check to see if the switch is bad? Please help.
