I just ordered one of those maintenance free batteries from Antique Auto Battery. My tar top reproduction was 4 years old and did not seem to be turning the starter over real fast. Does anyone else have any experience with this battery. It is supposed to be a real good copy of the original and maintenance free with no liquid at all inside.

I don't...... but I know some one makes a Tra top case or cover for the Red Top Optima Battery which all my cars have. It's 800 Cold Cranking Amps ...Mount in any posistion and sealed no matinance required.

Of course I don't have the case for the battery as I'm not an NCRS Head. Can't remember who makes the case or cover.. Maybe some one can help me out here....:beer

Mark -- it is supposed to be an exact duplicate. Also, it supposedly has no liquid inside. That is how it is maintenance free I guess. I am told you can mount it upside down if you want. I was more concerned with performance and longetivity. It should be here in about a week or so. It is also supposed to have 780 amps cranking power at 32 degrees and 585 at 0.

Same with the Optima. It can be mounted upside down ..or any way you want. I think what your taking about is the sprial cell Optima made to look like an orignal Midyear battery. I'll bet it is a wet cell sprial Optima hiding in there.
