Hello Everyone,

Looking for a Top Notch Corvette Mechanic that is currently working in a Maryland Chevrolet Dealer? Why a dealership you may ask? It has to do with a "rocker part" recall campaign (96024) for my 1996 LT4!
The first recall 96-C-07 (Rocker Part #12551311) was completed, but the second 96-C-07A (Rocker Part #12557779) is in question and I must go through a Chevrolet Dealership! The vehicle is right at 42,000 miles and I'm getting this loud tapping noise, which appears to be coming from the passenger side rocker arm area! Has anyone else ever experienced this type of problem? I can only hear this noise when the car is idling! I f you rev the engine, everything appears to be normal! If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!

One person told me that the fuel injectors somtimes make what some call a tapping sound? Anyone experience anything like this? I will take the name of just a really good corvette mechanic in Maryland (Including Baltimore)/Northern Virginia/Washington, DC area regardless of where they work! Someone very knowledgeable on the LT4 and Fuel Injection!

Thank you,
DCAATC

where is charlotte hall? if you want your more than welcome to bring over my way and i will look at it for you. Tate Chevrolet in Annapolis does real good Corvette work and they used to sponsor Corvettes of Annapolis car club.

Charlotte Hall, Maryland is located fifteen (15) miles southeast of Waldorf, Maryland in northern St. Marys County. Approximately sixty (60) miles west southwest of Annapolis! Thanks for the invite, but I have my son-in-law trying to fine a good mechanic over here through his club, "Southern Maryland Corvettes"! Doesn't mean we will find one, so keep your offer open, I'll let you know! This may end up as a not completed 96024 96-C-07 and 96-C-07A recall on those LT4 "rocker parts"! I need to get the "rocker part #'s" that are on the car now to really know! I'm working with GM HQS as the dealers don't show any open recalls on the 1996, but the original language of the GM recall said, "Dealers are to service all vehicles subject to this campaign at no charge to owners, regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership, from this time forward"!

Thanks again,
DCAATC
