when comming to a stop the past few times ive had the car out the brake seems sloppy and mushy..still stops the car but just feels like i have to push it further down to come to a stop..if i take my foot off the break when stoppping and hit it again it tightens up and feels like it should...im thinking maybe a vacume issue or maybe my master cylinder is goin bad?

if the pedal tightens up with a 2nd application, thats pumping.
All that indicates is air in the system. If the master cyl were bad it would be spongy thru each application. The MC is just a piston with valves to split the pressure between rear and front.

Well I shulda mentioned that I have to pump them a few times to get them to stiffen up, but it doesn't do it all the time. Idk how air culdve gotten into my system b/c I didn't mess with my brakes at all. Which is why I figured maybe my master cylinder may be going bad?

When stopped with foot on the brake, if the pedal sinks it is an indication of a worn master cylinder. :w

Pedal doesn't sink at all when stopped. And doesn't feel mushy all the time either. Its wierd if I'm doin like 50 and I step on the brake sometimes it just feels sloppy, like its hard to explain but it feel almost as tho when I push the pedal down there's no resistance on it until its like half way pushed down then it stops fine.. Or if its doin that and I pump the brakes alittle it will firm up. Idk what it could be but I feel as though as soon as my foot hits the pedal the car shul start slowin down and the pedal shuld be tight and alittle hard to push down all the time not just after I pump them while comming to a stop. And again ity doesn't do it all the time, which I find odd
