Hi,

I will be buying some new tires for my 74 Corvette. I got aluminum corvette wheels on it. I will buy BF Goodrich Radial T/A.

I know I will go with 255/50/R15 in the Front, everybody knows it handles very well in the front. I want a wider tire in the rear. I kind a like that wider look on the back of a sport car.

The question is. What is the maximum size I can use in the back? And also would you go with a taler tire as well in the back?

I would also like to see pictures of C3 corvettes that actually has that kind of setup to see how it looks like before I make a move.

Does anyone here have pictures of their car with wider tires in the back?
Please post your pictures if you do. I'd like to see what it looks like with 225 in front and wider in the back.

Thanks

for 275s you probably have to move the parking brake bracket on the trailing arm to the top of the arm, earlier vettes usually run into clearance problems there w/ 275s 275/50s or 60s look awesome, they give that more meaty look to the back. Don't have pics of mine (used to have 255 front and 275/60s in the rear)

ok. made a mistake here. I'm gonna go with 225/50/R15 in the front. they said it handles alot better.

I don't want to do any modification on the body to fit the tires. I don't want the tire too close to the fender as well. the roads here in Canada are bad. alot of holes in the road. so don't want any tire rubbing on fender.

So what do you suggest for tires in the back considering I don't want a do any modification on the car? How wide can I go without having any problems?

295-50-15's, with about 3/4" to Spare, 275-50-15's on the front! Want to go with maybe 18" rear and 17" on the front.
