I've seen several mentions of mechanical upgrades being made to the '74 model year vs. the '73 (other than the obvious exterior differences). I was wondering if anyone knew what got changed?

roger,
The A.I.R. system was not used on the L48 with Federal Emissions and the automatic. Calif, high altitude, and 4-speed L48s had the A.I.R. along with all L82's and LS4's.

74 improvements over 73

Here are some more improvments of the '74 over the '73:

Improved TH400
Magnets in PS system
Larger inside rear view mirror
Muffler resonators
Improved Astro ventilation
Improved radiator
Fully Electric Oil Pressure gauge--no worries about oil leak into passenger compartment
