I just got back from the Mecum Monterey auction and had what seems to have been a bad time spot, car #35 on the first day, Friday. There were very few people and fewer bidders, and my car, a 1980 Turbo prototype built at the Warren center went only to 27k so I kept it. It seemed there was way more money and action the second day, and really lots of action and big numbers at RM.

Does anyone have an experience to share about auctions like Mecum or RM, This was my first experience.

Also does anyone have a suggestion as to where it would be best to sell this car, I just don't have the big garage anymore. You can see the car if you want at markali.com/turbovette
Thank you, Mark

Guess you wanted too much money.

My belief is that, considering we are either at the end of the Great Recession or at the beginning of the second "dip" of same, the Mecum Auction in Monterey went quite well.

There was a nice Viper, not my cup of tea, but a nice one with only a few k miles that got just over 20 offered, he went a bit after me. It just didn't seem like bidders were there at that particular time.

I agree times are uncertain, but cars still seem better than stocks.
