I know this must come up every month but things change. I never used a microfiber towel and l have never scratched my paint but when l pick up my new vette (used) next week l would love to try it.

I believe in Zaino (Torch Red) for my color it works fine.

How many towels do l really need to buy and what size? Oh where should l buy them.

I do not shop at Sam's Costco or Wal-mart even if they are giving them away.

I use microfiber towels exclusively on our two Corvettes and swear by them! I buy them from www.pakshak.com -- far superior to any others, I think. I recently bought a detailing kit from Adams Products which included a couple of large waffleweave drying towels which are great. You might check out their site, too... www.adamspolishes.com. Whatever you do, don't buy anything from WalMart or any of those stores. The quality just isn't there!:)

Thanks

I will order from Paksak, but how many should l buy and what size or sizes.

Also keep in ind that when l pick up my C5 l will be taking off all the wax and will use Zaino.

It really does a fantastic job on Torch Red. My 96 (just sold) looked as wet as wet can be.

Alan,

Off the top of my head, I use a lot of the 20"x20" (or similar size) just for the polishing, wiping off wax, windows, etc. I use the larger (can't remember size) for drying the car. I use the 20x20 so much (inside the house, dusting, cleaning glass, etc., as well as on the cars) that I order them by the dozen. They're great quality. Buy a dozen of that size (believe me, you'll use them!) plus a couple of the larger (and try the waffleweave) for a start.

I use just two of the small ones to dry my car. I do one pass with the first towel, using it like a chamois. Wipe, wring out- wipe, wring out, etc. Then I get the last of the water with the second clean towel. Seems to work pretty well.

I just bought a bundle of 16x16 towels for 12 buck at Sams Warehouse. Walmart carries the same blue towels in a 2 pack. Walmart used to carry a full size towel in the automotive section but I haven't seen one of them lately so I settled for the pack at that price. They are the 80-20 mix that I have used exclusively for the last two years. Make sure whatever you get is at the 80-20 mix. You can't beat a good microfiber in my opinion.

Rethink Wal-Mart !!!!!!!!!

What l have been reading Wal-Mart's micro towels are inferior.

Thanks kingman. I double checked and stand corrected! This last bunch is a 70-30 (good!)mix. The tags on my old bunch say that they are 80-20's. Oh well....since I just bought them Saturday and they were only 12 bucks...I'll use the others on glass.
