Midyear Coupe reveal mouldings

Okay, so now I'm getting nervous.

Just a few days 'til D-Day (leave for Bowling Green) and I can't get the windshield top reveal moulding clipped in place. ad

The 10-day forecast for Bowling Green says rain every day. Can you imagine how much water I'll get into the birdcage without the top moulding? ad

I "think" the problem is the new weatherstrip. Any last minute suggestions for getting the mouldings pressed in far enough to reach the clips? :confused

I remember Collin M having problems on his 63 with the rear trim. He got different clips and ground the rubber a bit. Someone had mentioned that some of the aftermarket rubber was thicker. Another person said to use lots of soapy water or just soap. Don't know if this is any help to you or if it pertains to the same problem?
I would like to know how it works out for when the time comes that I have to put in my own

Update. We just wrapped up an early evening garage party. Well, it turned out that way.

The top moulding and the corner clips are on, thanks to the great help of Mr. & Mrs. Fuelie. We've come to the conclusion that the new windshield is not correctly shaped. The top corner radius happens a little late, so to speak. Anyway, that was keeping the top moulding and corner pieces from seating properly.

Long story, short, is they're on.........not as flush as I'd like, but I'll park it in the sun for a day or two and see if I can seat them better.

However, the main thing is that I think it's good enough for the road trip. :W

Looks like I'll be pulling the windshield next winter. Aftermarket crap. :eyerole

funny you should say that...

While at the shop Mark's (VNV) car was at today I noticed a sign Rob had on the wall. It said " Aftermarket Fits Like Crap".
I've seen you say that so often on here I pointed it out to Mark and told him you would have loved that sign.

Glad you got that on! Mine were polished and put on by the paintshop fellow but I did not see him do it so could offer no advice.

And....it's show time! First event of the summer today. A touristic classic car show downtown. I'm pumped and ready to go. The green machine is looking pretty.

It was a very enjoyable day. Hot and sunny. There was a lot of interest in my 1967. In fact one fellow made me an offer! And it was very reasonable. He inspected the car very carefully and it was obvious he knew what he was looking for and at. But she's not for sale.

I don't know if I won a ribbon or something similar. Those things don't matter to me. I didn't attend the awards ceremonies.

The car on the left is my 1979 L-82 that I spent many years restoring. It still is a very pretty car.

All-in-all, time well spent and a great day.
