Another true story that I didn't tell Mark about when I crash landed (literally) in his driveway. I just installed a March undrive kit on the car, swapping the alternator to the driver's side. That caused me to extend the original alternator wires from the passenger side, over the front frame crossmember and out to the new alternator, being careful not to get anywhere near the headers. Secured the wires (in looms) with wire ties.
What I noticed on my ride downa' shore was that the Ammeter was reading erratically...sometimes as much as +20 amps. Just when that happened, my shifter rod took over and significantly increased the drama in my life.
In retrospect, in my haste to get out the door at home, I neglected to tighten the wire ties across the crossmember. So when VNV was looking into the engine bay, he saw the loom flopping around on the crossmember so I just pulled the existing wires ties tight. Solved that problem. He also didn't like the way the ground wire was secured so he added a wire tie to that. He's right that I need to cap the alternator positive terminal because it's always hot but that's another story.
So, on my way home to OC, I noticed that with JUST THE LAYING ON OF THE HANDS, VNV completely fixed the problem!!!!!!
THANK 'YA JESUS IT'S A MIRACLE!!!!!:BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW :BOW
