I have also noticed a LOT of people are running 3/8" belts in 1/2" pulleys and I can't imagine why they would do something so silly. Corvette alternators have 1/2" pulleys and it seems people are getting passenger car alternators with the narrower 3/8" pulleys and installing them on their C3 then running the narrower 3/8" belt. The wider 1/2" pulleys are readily available from a number of different sources so why are people doing this? Just don't know the C3's used wider pulleys on their alternators?
I have also heard several people claim they have "deep groove racing pulleys" on their C3's when they just have wrong belts in their pulleys.
