If my memory serves, the sticker said something like 15W50. If that's the case, where do you buy the stuff? What oil filter do you use?

Thanks,
HoldHard

That is the right weight. The last time I bought it, I got it at Walmart. Mobil 1 makes a good filter and so does Wix.

The best price for Mobil1 15W-50 (red cap) in my area is at Walmart. New packaging, 5 qt bottle for $18.99. I used to buy it by the case for about $4.99 a quart.

MOBIL 1 15w50 is the correct weight and as Luigi said - it should have a "Red top cap"
Wal Mart generally has the best price on the stuff.
I forget the oil filter site that did a comparo. but the K&N, Mobil 1 came out best in the premium filters w/ the AC filters coming out tops in the standard filters... I use PF25 AC filters on my B2K
REMEMBER: the Callaway Twin Turbo uses SIX Quarts of oil at an oil / filter change (as opposed to a standard Vette's 5 qt fill)
Hope this helps :m

Re: Re: Mobil1 for Twin Turbo, What Weight and Filter?

For what its worth I use 15W50 mobil 1 and the K&N oil filter on my LT4....

I was wondering if I had to take the intercooler off to add oil. Nice solution.

Thanks,

Thanks - I was feeling crafty :beer
...actually, the flex funnel was too small (opening) and flowed sssssssslowww... The cut oil bottle works well and fits right in :)
- Don't have to remove the intercooler :)

I have to remove my intercooler to add oil. It sits too close to the valve cover. But its very easy, takes only a couple of minutes.

Adding oil

I find it easier to loosen the clamps on the intercooler and just move it enough to get the oil cap off. Then I use a funnel (at a strange angle) to add oil. I find it saves having to totally remove the intercooler and saves hassle getting it perfectly aligned again.

The less chance anything has of falling down the turbo inlet pipe the better!
