I've been noticing this for some time now, since I have to go to work in the dark.

What happens is that after 4-5 minutes of driving in the morning, the headlights have a momentary decrease in brightness, then they come back to normal. Doesn't happen again all the while driving to work. But every day it does it. I can almost figure the point at which it will dim while on my way to work.

I assume it is some circuit that's timed out and switching something, and not a faulty something.

Anyone else ever notice this?

a "feature" of the C5 electrical system..so far, I've not heard of one C5 that doesn't do it..

And if you drive at night for very long... it will do it a few more times. I've never been able to connect it with any other event.

WOW, I drive to work every morning in the dark and have never noticed this. I must be driving asleep!! Everybody stay away from me! I knew that drinking de caf was a bad idea..........

The only time that I notice a dimming of the headlights is when I cue a power accessory, like the windows, or the seat adjustment. The lights return to full brightness after I release the switch. Other than that, I haven't noticed the lights surging.

Same

thing happens with my car, it now has 17k on it with the original battery, good point above: Perhaps some electrical item is affecting the lights, wonder what it is.
