Sorta makes sense. Fiat has no use for NASCAR and when they could not find a top tier Cup team to take over engine and car development, after Penske is done with them this year, there was no reason to stay. Besides, Fiat/Chrysler just pumped a lot of money (but not nearly as much money as a Cup team costs) into their ALMS Viper program. ALMS racing probably makes more sense to Sergio than NASCAR racing where the cars are all clones with NASCAR specific engines, NASCAR specific chassis and NASCAR approved bodies.
