Trying out a new camcorder so I hope this comes out. This number is from the right front of the engine block if anyone knows how to decifer this one or would like to take a stab at it I would appreciate it.
thanks,
john

If that's the stamp pad, I'd take a guess that the engine was rebuilt in the past, and the block was decked, removing the original numbers. Those numbers look like something stamped by the machine shop to identify the block during the rebuild. Hope this helps. Chuck

I see a 6 - Z - 2 is there anything else?

Thanks guys.
Yes, these are the only markings on the stamp pad.
The machine shop theory makes alot of sense Chuck.
I thought I read in a post recently that this stamp pad was not painted from the factory and I can clearly see paint in the numbers ( not that it couldn't have been just painted at any time ).
Unfortunately the previous owner seems to be unknowledgable about this. He owned it for 5 yrs and is not mechanically inclined.
