What a way to spend an hour. Replacing the valve cover gaskets.Once again, the guy who owned it before me did a crummy job. There was glue all over the place in there that I had to scrape off. Enjoy the pics:). Oh and yes, the EGR is next. Darn rust:bash

Nice pics! I can certainly sympathize with you.

Permatex makes a nice gasket remover you can spray on those heads. Stuff should come right off.

SAVE THE :w!

Are you going to port that intake or get an x-ram or wait for the new renegade intake made by "dynamic crossfire solutions". The renegade is a direct replacement and gives you 33 rear wheel horsepower and 16 lbs/ft of torque. While your valve covers are off, install a set of 1.6 roller rockers, 1.6's have some guys on here claiming 3-4 tenths reduction in the 1/4 mile.

I've thought of the XRAM. I found the kit on DCS's site for 84 bucks. I haven't heard what many people think of it. If anyone has any experience on Xram, please feel free to share :v

Good luck on the project! I put the Fel-Pro perma dry gaskets on mine when I was in there last. No sealer is needed and if you have to get back in there to work on something, you don't have to replace the gasket.

Yeah, me again. Are you going to remove your EGR and leave it off? I just removed mine this week after discovering that it was the cause of my rough idle. Took it off and blocked the port and it was like night and day. Turns out I was getting vacuum 100% of the time to the EGR which made it...well, suck.

I have an x-ram if you are interested. I could sell it to you.
