Motor has much more potential.

I just got my motor rebuilt and I feel that it has a lot more potential. So I am looking into maybe doing a transmission swap from my stock 76 3 speed auto to maybe an auto with overdrive or a torque converter or rear-end gears what do you guys think I should do first and will give me the most bang for my buck? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I have always heard gears were the biggest bang for the buck. Having said that, I have yet to do them on my car. I do, however, have a 4L60E overdrive in my car. It woke the car up off the line and also provides a better cruise.

4L60E?? what exactly is it and how much dose it cost???

Chuck- 4L60E (700R4) is an overdrive automatic trans.

Thanks that helped a lot I have a good idea of what I have to work with and how much it will cost me also are those th700 just put them in and they are good to go. I mean same stick shift etc or dose that need to be swapped out?
