What do you guys think of this? I like the idea of a filter for the water around here to get the minerals out. Of course I would not want to use thier soap but the device with the filter is a good one. Should I give it a try? Is there another product out there with a filter built in?

Don't ask mama what she thinks, or your ears will turn RED. The soap left stains on her black CTS Cadillac we used as a ginny pig before using on the VETTE. We disposed of the device and its contents. NOW we have to wax the car to get rid of the stains, Car was still dirty also. :-(

Good concept and it really does work, HOWEVER, as stated above, I noticed the same "filming" and had to rewash the Dodge RAM twice to get the stuff off....and I'm rewaxing. On the red vette it seems to work great but I know there's a film based upon washing the truck. The soap was been demoted to cleaning patio furniture and such, no more cars.

no kidding!

Nearly picked some up at the store the other week and talked myself out of it. Glad I did!

Yeah, I figured the soap would be junk, but if I use my usual soap and dump the stuff that comes from Mr. Clean. I went down and bought one yesterday, but I have not yet had a chance to use it. I'll let you know.....

The deal with the Mr. Clean is it de-ionizes the water. Many of those do it yourself spray car wash places have de-ionized water for for $0.50 extra a wash. I almost got the Mr. Car Wash, too, until my husband told me about the car wash - he's used it (car wash de-ionized water) and said it still leaves spots... just not as many. I haven't heard a lot of raves about Mr. Clean... now Meguiar's NXT - well, that's a different story. ;)

I'm underwhelmed with it. I used it for the first time on Friday, on my Sonoma and Corvette. I still had to dry both vehicles. And, as someone else pointed out, the rinse water pressure leaves something to be desired. I've seen my dog pee with more pressure than that! Don't waste your money.
:(

Washed two out of three cars this weekend and it worked well for me.

Overall the Mr Clean refills are kind of expensive to continually replace...but it was nice not to have to wipe down the cars and trucks after washing..

The sponge sure did get dirty though..

I give it a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10 as something I will not use on the vette but rather my other SUV and car.

(I happen to like wiping down the vette. JMO

Mequiar's NXT is awesome...just to be sure I also tried the new Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss and I'm equally amazed. The only downside to the Turle Wax was I noticed a lot of white wax in paint chips where the NXT seemed to buff out cleaner. I'm a former Zaino user but I'll stick with these new waxes until something better comes along.

Mr. Clean

I don't know what is happening with the people who are dissatisfied
with Mr. Clean. I've used it several times, and was blown away. I
HATE drying cars. I did however, let the car dry over night in my garage.
I think if you let it dry outside contaminants get back in the water standing on the car, and when it drys you have spots again. Oh yeah,
the NXT is the only wax I think I will ever use on my black car.:w

The filter has to be changed..

I hate drying cars too..

I had used it on all three of my cars..

Silver/white and red...

I was very impressed until the last usuage ..when the car didn't dry well..

I assume this last time was the filter?

The other thing..is do not use the hose to wash off the car without the filter..

One time..I was going to wash it regularly and after hosing down the car..I changed my mind and used this product..The results were not good either..

Only use the attachment completely as the filter is necessary for all portions of the process..

STart to finish..

I like the product and will continue to use it..

Otherwise I have to get the leaf blower out and dry the car as I used too..

I have been using this for a few weeks now and I really like it! The water around here is really contaminated (Just look at the news about DCs water) and it does seem to remove a lot of what caused the spots. After I wash I squeegee it with a Cali squeegee and then park it in the garage. My car looks great!
