Have any of you installed a mud flap or stone guard on your Z06? Are there any that install easily and look good? Where did you get them? I went to a local Chevy dealer today and he said that GM does not make a set that will fit the Z06.

I think on a black C5 the black mud guards look ok...but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

JMO but JI'98 over at www.c5forum.com has had them put on his car and it looked good.

He's a great guy.. I just shot him over an email to ask where he got his . When he replies I'll give you a heads up. I've seen his black C5 and with the mudflaps it looks sharp. Of course his HRE rims don't hurt either....

Might have been midamerica but I'm not sure.

Good luck.

Here's his email back to me:

Hi there JB...Denise and I are in Italy vacationing and returning home this Sunday. I believe my flaps were purchased from ACS ( I think ), they are also in Ecklers and Mid-America.
Best regards
Joe

I absolutely hate mud flaps and have been looking for something not so obvious. MA sells smoke lexan ones for the C4 that you might be able to adapt. I love them on my 92. You can hardly see them.

My friend has an 04 Z and is facing the same problem if we come up with a solution I'll post it.

I hate mudflaps too...Its just my buddies car Joe which is a black 98 C5 really looks beautiful. (even with the mud flaps...which are black...) It blends in so nicely it looks good.

Just an fyi...

Do they work as intended? I tried them on my car and took them off, as they did little/nothing.

I do like the plastic applique' which can disappear on a black car, if the proper product is chosen. We had ClearBra installed on a new, black 745Li and picky-me was pleased.

I will install a similar product to protect the lower areas of my Vette, as soon as I get a chance.

I had clearbra installed on my new 530i and had custom cut pieces installed where a mud guard would usually go. I've been pleased with its performance over the past 18 months.

Hi, Stumbo, and welcome to the Corvette Action Center! :)

You know, you've raised a point I wanted to raise- those clearbras. MidAmerica Direct sells them for Corvettes, and those in my local Corvette Club who've added them swear by them- it's put a complete stop to rock dings on the hood and nose, as well as the mirrors. I'm seriously thinking about doing that to my Z06.

Not sure it works when you bite other cars tho-----

I did the black ones on my black Z. They don't detract from the looks but I wouldn't say they add anything either. I can say that the right front was worn down considerably on the Nashville Speedway road course a couple of weeks ago.
