Well for some reason the link won't work so you will have to copy and paste in your browser.:duh

Okay, let's fill 'em in here, then they can click the link. ;)
MUSCLE CAR 1000

The Muscle Car 1000 was created to fill a niche in the Vintage Car Rally market. Every year throughout the United States and Europe, there are dozens of car rallies and tours. However, none of the existing events cater to muscle car owners. In fact, most rallies are only open to automobiles built prior to 1957 - seven years before the introduction of the first muscle car.

The Muscle Car 1000 will cater to muscle car owners by establishing itself as the first and only muscle car rally in the world.

The inaugural running of The Muscle Car 1000 will be held October 4-8, 2005. The rally will begin in Newport Beach, California; follow Highway 1 north to Napa Valley and return to Newport Beach via Highway 101.

The cost of the rally will be $3950 per team. Each team consists of one car and two participants.

On the web page titled "About us", all the "muscle cars" are listed. There is a conspicuous omission..... no Corvettes...... ???

HMMMM. You're right I didn't look that close, maybe they would be embarrassed.

Sports car = two seater... Muscle car = seats two comfortably with room in the back for the kids.

That was great. I think "CORVETTE" is in a class all of it's own. This is a copy of the email I sent to them...no return yet.

"Hi, this sound like a very cool event, I have passed the ling along to several people that would like to attend....but one thing I overlooked was that "about us" mentions everything but Corvette's, What's up with that????"

Looks like a lot of fun. Maybe I should have kept that '67 442.

Did anyone notice that they listed Mercury under General Motors?

Well that was an interesting lesson, this is the reply I received from my email.:hb

original email:

Reply:Dear Rian,

Thanks for the e-mail! I know what you mean about the lack of Corvette's in this event. I have a 1955 Corvette that would be a blast to drive up highway 1. Unfortunately, Corvettes are considered Sportscars not Muscle Cars. As a result, they do not qualify for the rally.

A muscle car is defined as a mid-sized(by 1960's standards) two-door, four-seat American car with a large displacement V-8 engine stuffed under the hood.

Hopefully, we'll have a Corvette rally in the future!

Best Regards,

Chris Hoskins
