Here are a few pictures! The color sanding and buffing are tomorrow, and then it goes on my painter's lift to blacken the undercarriage. I should get it back by the first of the week to start putting it back together.

Hey looks nice, did you have to strip the paint off?

All paint was stripped off, and the body shop had to do a lot of fiberglass buildup and block sanding, because the previous paint job had been prepped with someone using a DA sander (lots of waves and uneven fiberglass panels). If you look at the front fender (the back matches) there's a lot less wave than the urethane bumper had when it was new.

Was kind of curious how it was prepped. See a lot of talk about stripping the paint off, some sand it, some soda blast, kind of thinking about having mine painted in a year or so, a freind who does a lot of street rods doesnt seem to like the idea of stripping, but the soda blast idea kind of scares me cuz if somthing bad is going to happen it will happen to me. Just curious I guess. Seeing your car really got me thinking again looks great.........:)

VERY NICE:beer I like the hood. It is so much better than just all one color.

You must be happy to be getting it all done. Please post a picture once it is all back together. Again very nice and I like the colors.

Very nice, I like the color combo. Were the gill and hood stripes done first and masked off or done after the color coat?

berky2500 - The red base coat was done first, and then the whole car was covered except where the black was to be applied.

Piet - It is all paint, with enough clear (4 coats on the sides and 6 coats on the horizontal surfaces) that you can't feel any ridge between the color transitions.
