Some idiot hit the side of my car with an egg while i was at work. The car gets parked so far away too some A**hole decided it would be funny. Anyhow i washed it off with soap and tried waxing it last night. It looked like some shell was stuck on a little bit. I have to go out and wax the whole car now. It was only on there for probably 2 hours at the most because i was out at the car. It was raining so it didnt dry can this ruin the paint? Should i be worrying im really upset about this i try to keep the car perfect.

That's tragic!:eek :( I'm sorry to hear that.

I've heard egg-yolk on paint is very damaging. You did the right thing by getting it off as soon as possible. Luckily it rained. I would use a cleaner wax to make sure you get most of it out. Be careful not to scratch the surface.

Good luck!;)

Happy Halloween :hb

if it is rough above the surface of the paint I would use a clay bar but if it is rough below the clear coat level you may need some professional work done depending how bad it is

egged!

I had a mark on the side of my last 'vette. It was a black car, so everything showed. It was about 1.5 inches X 2.5 inches, in sort of a tear drop shape. I was told that it was an egg mark. It looked like the shell may have scratched the paint, leaving the mark. It looked like the problem was the shell, not the contents of the egg.

Sorry to hear that some lealous idiot had to have fun at your expense. I will never understand this type of vandalism!

Actually thankfully it barely left a mark. It looks like a bit of shell maybe on there but it isnt even noticeable unless you feel it with your hand. How do i use the clay bar to get it off? Thanks guys!
