This weekend was great weather here in the Seattle area. I decided to take my Corvette to meet some friends at the local park. While coasting over speedbumps I noticed a dark red C5 approaching. I wasn't sure if the "wave" was just a rumor or a joke, but I decided I was going to give it a shot. (Its not like waving to a stranger can be offensive) But he beat me to it. He waved first. I don't know why, but this simple act of camaraderie made my morning. (Sorry but being at the park made my afternoon ;) )

Even though I did wave back, here's another :w

I bought my first vette in 1976, it was a 70 Coupe.

After a couple of weeks of driving, I ask my Cousin, who had several vettes, Why is everyone in a Vette waving at me?

Hen then explained it.

8 corvettes later and I still wave.

i stll get a smile when i get a wave..... and still give the snooty old bastard in the white c6 in my town the finger when i see him!

Thumbs up is okay...stay away from one finger though...:w
I am on my 3rd Vette now, I had a brand new, off the showroom floor black on black 1980 coupe, sold it to get a down payment on a house...I loved that car. Then got a very rough 1975 red roadster that I kept for 14 yrs and with my son's help brought it back to almost perfect condition...it was an L82, A/C, 4 speed and I wish I had kept it. Now I have a brand new 2009 Velocity Yellow convertible and I am happy again. IT was good to get back into a Vette and see that "the Wave" is still being passed on.

ALWAYS DO THE WAVE...64 and still waving :w

is a thumb's up suitable, or too progressive?

I always wave and it seems that all C4 owners wave back, most C5, and some C6... Its too bad they all cannot wave back.

So far, when a Vette pulls up next to me, everyone has waved, stopped to talk at the light, and we cruise off!

And yes, the wave is one of the sweet things about owning a Vette! It gives you that COOL feeling when you wave or some other person in a Vette waves, as others watch!:L

:w

Yeah I haven't been getting a lot of wave backs lately. Either people are not aware of the wave, or they simply just do not see it in time.

I've been waving for 36 years. I remember the first time another Vette gave me the wave. I was with my sister and I said what's up with the waving. She told me it's a Vette thing. I always wave but it seems like some of the newbie guys don't get it.

Save the wave.:w

My old boss has a white C6, and I'd give him the finger too. But I doubt they're the same person, seeing as our locations are opposite ends of the country.

It is getting to be nice weather, so I may drive with the top off a bit more often. It makes visibly waving much easier. I'm a new Corvette owner, and I intend to keep the tradition.

:w from 35 miles South of you in Lakewood. Will keep an eye and a :w out for you next time I head that way...
