my headers

hello. im new here but not new to my l81. just wanted to begin posting some pics of the work ive been doing. ill start with the headers since i just finished those. the finish is stainless steel grey high temp silicone powder. the finish is good to 1500 degrees. i also removed the air tubes that extended into the ports and removed the excessive welds inside. just for looks i smoothed out the weld slack from the outside. i think it looks pretty good and should flow better as well. heres a link to my photobucket with photos of my headders and valve covers.
the valve covers are also powder coated in two colors. black and stardust silver. look at the crummy edges before i squared them. well hello to all you c3 owners and enjoy the photos. my car is origional and i have hundereds of engine bay and assembly pics of the things ive done so if anybody needs a look at a certain area id be happy to show ya what ive got.

Great to see the pictures! Especially what you did on the inside. I didn't know where was so much to improve on the inside! How long did it take you to clean up the inside?

not too long i used a die grinder and a dremmel with various bits and stones. i also used those little 2 ince surface prep disks. took a couple days but total hours worked on it was more like 2 hrs each preping for powder. they look outstanding. i will do the heat shields in high temp silver powder sometime this week and ill post em up as i do them. ill include some powder application pics too. thanks.
