My latest dispointment at the Dyno. I got the New opti on and the car is running alot better. I also installed the Vortex Ram Air. Last Dyno Results were 301 HP at 6000rpms and 300 TQ at 4500 rpms. This time I pulled a peak HP rating of 306 at 6100 rpms and 301 TQ at 4600 rpms. I did not have a big increase in peak, but I increased about 2-3 HP through out the power curve. The Torque stayed flat. On the second run I put a Leaf blower under the front of the car, blowing air into the Ram Air. I pulled a peak HP rating of 313 at 6200 rpms. I did not have any difference in Torque until 5400 rpms. I got an increase of about 2 tq across the power curve after 5400 rpms. I also got about 4-5 HP across the power curve with the Ram Air. The power curve was also alot smoother. The car shifted at 6200, but the HP curve was still going up. I may adjust the shift points up some. The Air/Fuel ratio was a constant 12.7-12.8.
Oh yea, there was also a stock 03 Cobra there. It only had 1700 miles on it. The Guy was really nice. He also had an SS. On his first pull he had 366 HP at 6000rpms. He had 358 TQ at 4000rpms. The Torque curve was flat from 4000-5500rpms. It started to drop off just a little until 6000rpms. On his second run he disconnected the silencer. It is the Housing around the air filter. This thing is incredibly restricted. It curves back about 170 degrees. On his second run with an open filter he pulled 381 HP at 6200 rpms and 359 TQ at 4000rpms. He has a pully off a Ford Lighting and some exhuast that he is going to put on it next. He will easily bust 400hp at the rear wheels with a pully and exhaust. The problem is the car weighs 3700lbs. This is 500 more than a C4. Its Goodyear 275/40/17's cant hook up worth a poopie either. You have to milk it good, or have a really good driver behind the wheel. The best track time was 12.8@108.
