Hi Folks -

I finally installed my lift last Sunday - and I already have had three Z's and a K on it (two Z06's, a Z28 and my K3500 :L ).

Here is a link to pictures I have up on angelfire...

I only have to start decorating...First thing to go up will be my Guldstrand signed poster - then who knows....

I also have a cardomain page set up -

AWESOME!
Details? price? is there another thread somewhere with more info?
Did you have to have specially reinforced concrete?
Are the tops of the lift posts attached to the ceiling?

:_rock KOO-L !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO envious.:cool :_rock

Great!!

It won't be long before you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. My best feeling is I now feel more safe working on my cars alone.

Hi Tammy -

I purchased the lift last fall as part of my new garage addition - from www.autolifters.com / http://www.autolifters.com/8000_lp.html

My lift is the LP 8000 model - low profile 8000lb capacity model. The low profile means that the equalization cables and the hydraulic hose run on the floor between the posts rather than across the top - check the web site for more details.

Standard concrete is used - at least 4" thick (mine is just under 6" thick in the lift area). The lift simply bolts to the floor using twelve (12) 3/4" shielded studs - I used a rotary hammer to drill the holes, then a small sledge to drive the studs in - then bolted the lift stanchions to the floor.

Use the link to my garage page on my angelfire site to see the build as it progressed.

The lift is on sale right now for $1895. It comes to a frieght forwarder in your locale, and you must either arrange delivery to your home or go pick it up - which I did with my truck.

I used an engine "cherry picker" to lift the heavy parts out of the truck and to move the stanchions into place.

The tops of the posts are not bolted to the ceiling - they are about 8' high, the ceiling is 14' where the lift stands - my ceiling drops down to 10 feet on the far ends of the garage - you can see how the framing was done by looking at my garage build page.

BTW -
I put up my first wall hanging tonight in the new garage - a Guldstrand 50th poster (signed at the MA Funfest last year) and a small shelf just below it to hold a 1:18 diecast of the Guldstrand 50th Signature Series car.

What tires are you running? It looked to me like neither of those 'vettes were running factory tires.

Hi Edmond -

Yup - It sure does! I just put the jacking pucks in the frame holes on the vette and then swing the arms under the car and lift it up!

My son works at an autoparts store, so I am hoping he colludes with his mother and I get a telescopic drain pan for a lift...otherwise I buy one Monday...lol

BTW - I notcied your av - did you happen to check out my pumpkin carving page? I did a "pumpkinator" as one of my pumpkins - it is on the "great pumpkins" link on my angelfire site -

Well-Another Punch from the Coward! LOL

Just saw this one from my pal Tony's Torch. Where is the coward now?

The other day I saw a car like Tony's. Too bad I wasn't in a rental car. I would have love to have done some "adjustments" !!!!!!!! Nobody, need not to worry, I would have taken responsibility for the damage. Smacking a Tony's Torch clone with have been worth the price.

Why couldn't have been Tony's car on that lift that dropped the vette?

Tony would not have known the difference and would have driven it as is from the dealer and nobody would have been in this mess. Tony will drive anything. He couldn't even work a fuel gage door!!!!!!!!! :L
