My two car garage and house addition will start next Thur. For 15 years I have been wanting to do this and it's finally happening. Because I live in an old neighborhood the garage will be two cars deep. Actually 2 1/2 cars and the addition part will be 14 feet wide. I'll have room for another midyear to work on when I retire in 3 years. I'll try to post pictures as things move ahead. :D Dennis

bluestripe67,

You mean that beautiful white 'vert with the "blue stripe" isn't enough for you?

:w

Dennis,

That is great have you found anything interesting to put away untill you retire?

Make sure that ceiling is about 11 feet high so you can get a doublestack in there! You just never know when you'll need to add to the fleet! ;)

One is never enough, especially if you want to keep your other half on your side. You guys remember my embarrising attempt earlier in the year to get a second midyear, well I stand a better chance now through retirement. Will still be looking for a '65-67 coupe. Hopefully I'll find one with all the comforts of home, that needs some work, and that can be fun for each of us to drive. Just imagine...TOY 1 and TOY 2 showing up at Carlisle, now that would take the place of Viagra. :D Getting it ready won't be in a high ceiling garage. Up above will be a kitchen extension and a back porch, each of which I'm looking forward to. Watching the sun rise on the porch after cooking some serious breakfast or sitting on the front porch watching the sun set after cooking one serious dinner...I like to cook. Oh, I almost forgot....and having a cold one! Dennis

I'm right there with you Dennis.... Built my garage, rebuilt the car, now I'm doing a massive remodel at the house....... and I still owe her 2 cruises.

We couldn't afford another Vette, so I bought her a different new toy... used BMW Z3. Not the most practicle cae, but she loves driving it. (I've driven it once).

Dennis,

You are taking the right approach. When we did ours we made it a package deal to add a new dining room and porch, redo the kitchen, etc. and Barb felt better about the whole project.

Looking forward to pictures.

Dennis,

Oh yeah, I look forward to the pictures, also. Because I will get a chance to inspect it first hand...if you know what I mean...;)

Dennis (forgot which number Dennis I am, am I 3 or 4 or 24 on here?)

I hope I'm saying the same thing next year...about the garage, that is. I've been saying I'm going to finally pull the trigger on one "next spring" for the last three years.

bluestripe67, Good luck and please do post pictures of your progress. If you've been waiting for 15 years you deserve the new addition for sure.

In preparation for this, everything in the basement has been moved or donated. In moving things around, my pride and joy is my two large Craftsman tool chests that will go into the new shop area. Well, today I pulled all the drawers, lubed all the guides and then to top it all off, I waxed the big box. Is that too much or what? :D I know, it's an anal thing. ;) During the discussions about what's what and so on and so forth, my wife said, and I quote, "I want you to have nice cabinets like some of those companies make. You know the ones you see in commercials", and I said, sounds good to me. :D :D. I'm trying to decide what to do with the floors. In the front (original garage) is the old concrete with many stains etc. and the back garage will be the new concrete. Looking at coatings, tiles and interlocking system. I'll check 'em all out. :beer
