Mistery hose clip

Dear 59 lovers,

I found a misterious hose clip on my inner left fender. It looks like it has been there from the bearth of the car since it blackened as the rest of the hood. It looks like it can hold a hose of appr. 1.25" diameter. If needed I will photograph it to find its purpose...

I can't think of what that might be. The only clips on my left inner fender panel are for the forward lamp wiring harness and they are much smaller. Can you post a picture?

Tom,

I've unscrew the clip and there was blackness underneath the place the clip was mounted so I presume it was an afterbirth feature so I leave it out since I can't see the use anyway...
