I don't follow nascar much but I was curious what model car Stewert drives?

I may be mistaken, but I believe he drove a Pontiac in '02, and is switching to Dodge or Chevy in '03. I don't follow NASCAR details too closely.

That really says something for the corvette if he is buying a chevy when he races a different make of vehicle. Or maybe his crew chief just knows his cars. ;)

Yes, he drove a Pontiac this year and the Gibbs team is switching to Chevy next year. I have been following Tony Stewart since he drove midgets and IRL years ago. I knew he would be a champ at any level. A lot of people don't care for him because he is so hot tempered, but he alway goes out and gives 110%. I fully expect him to do it again next year. GO TONY STEWART..........

Old news, but Tonys a Chevy boy...

My sons watch and enjoy Nascar. I don't get it! Only turn left?

These cars are purpose built racers, tubular framed, identical in shape and form to the thousandth of inch. Identical ford to chevy to dodge. Only decals are different.

I know I'd be an instant fan, if Tony Stewart started driving a Corvette Z06. And the ford guys drove Shelby Mustangs, for instance. And the dodge guys drove hemi Chargers (or whatever they have). And so on.
Real cars, that you and I might own. Or dream of owning. (can anyone spell C6 ZR1, or C7 Z07, a real race car!!!)
Who wouldn't like to see those two cars, with the likes of Tony Stewart driving, running around the Daytona track for 500 miles, against the Shelby Mustangs, and Vipers, etc, ????

I'd love to see these guys (Nascar Drivers) race these cars, even if they only turned left most of the time..... I have absolutely no interest in tubular framed purpose built raceers (current nascar cars) which are all identical to the smallest fraction of an inch. And my guess is (only a guess) that the ford Nascar car, has not one part on it, that you might go to your local Ford dealer parts department, and pick up for your car; same with the Chevy and Dodge teams.

That's why I only watch (or have interest in) Lemans style road races. Real (or nearly real) cars, Corvettes, Porsche, Viper, Ferrari, etc. Cars modified, but still very much like we could hope to own. The Corvette C7R is very much like the new C7 Z06 soon to come, to the public.
Same as was C5R, and C6R. Same with the Porsche lemans style cars, and so on. Real cars!

Come on, NASCAR, bring on some real cars, get your talented drivers into them; and let's go racing....
I'll watch every week!!!

(of course, I suppose Corvette would win so much, that they'd ban it from racing, again; like they did many years ago. and then only in 1997 finally, did they allow Corvette back into the fray)

IMHO.... just 2 cents worth

Don

I know what you mean Don. I used to be a big NASCAR fan back when they "raced them on Sunday and sold them on Monday" (age dating). I have lost interest sense NASCAR went to the COT. I still go to a NASCAR race once in a while (1 race last year), but I don't follow them closely anymore.
