MiM: California Dreamin'
​

August 18-23 we hit the road for a 5 day/5 night adventure, this time starting in Kingman, AZ, following parts of Route 66, arriving in Long Beach, CA to the Queen Mary floating ocean liner hotel. Sightseeing includes Paramount Studios, Petersen Museum and an optional visit to Catalina Island.

Corvette Racing Competes at Sebring
​

Corvette Racing returns this weekend to a track where it has made many memories and scored some of its most glorious achievements. In the long and storied history of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida, one would be hard-pressed to find a team that can match the continual success of Corvette Racing. America’s premier sports car team has made winning America’s oldest sports car race almost routine with 10 victories, nine pole positions and six fastest race laps in 18 appearances.


Both of the Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs have the same lineups this weekend as at the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona. Defending Sebring GT Le Mans (GTLM) winners Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner and Marcel Fässler will team in the No. 4 Corvette C7.R. They won last year in a wild race that saw a nearly three-hour red flag period for severe weather at the track.


Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen won the 2015 GTLM race. They return this year with Mike Rockenfeller in the No. 3 Corvette C7.R.

Win a Piece of Corvette Racing History
​

Corvette Racing's victory at the 24 Hour of Le Mans in 2015 completed the team's Triple Crown of sports car endurance racing with the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R. Corvette Racing is the first team since 2000 to win the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and 24 Hours of Le Mans in the same season.


After each race, oil is removed from the cars for testing purposes. Mobil 1 took oil from each of the three "triple crown" races, and created a limited edition, numbered plaque featuring the liquid oil.


The plaque is two-sided acrylic featuring the #3 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R on one side, and #4 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R on the other side. At the bottom the plaque is numbered. The plaque feature for auction is #26 of only 60 made.


The plaques were not for sale, but presented to each driver, crew chief and other key members of the Corvette Racing team. This plaque was donated to the Museum by Mobil 1 to be used as a fundraising auction.

What's In Your Museum: Corvette Generations
​

Thanks to a suggestion from a Museum Ambassador - we now have a display in the Skydome featuring one Corvette of each generation. The idea behind the mini display was so that visitors can compare, side by side, the similarities and differences each era of Corvette brings.


The mini display will rotate cars to represent each generation but currently includes a 1962 Fawn Beige, 1967 Sunfire Yellow, 1979 Corvette Red, 1996 Sebring Silver Collector's Edition, 2004 Lemans Blue Commemorative Edition, 2013 Arctic White 60th Anniversary Edition and a 2017 Grand Sport Collector Edition.
