Well guys about a month ago I had a little problem when I bumped into the back of a mini van with my 85 C4. I didn't bump him hard just kinda slid under him a bit and bent my nose down a bit, ( please excuse me while I wipe away a tear). I am now faced with 2 problems firstly as soon as I bumped the guy the car died and would not restart, Ahhhhhhhhh. I have been told that the car might have a fuel pump cut off for saftey so fuel wont pump out if the car is wrecked, does anyone know if this is correct? Now for the rest of the problem MY HOOD IS STUCK SHUT and my battery is dead. I know about the hood tool and one is on the way but the starting problem concernes me. The car turned over fine and showed no error codes when I checked the day of my mishap. I haven't really done anything else to the car yet, I've been to depressed but want to replace my hood cables and try and get it running before it starts snowing. I appreciate any help, thanks.

Is is possible that you battery just died at the same time? I put two on my car last year. As for the shut-off, I have heard of them, but don't know if your car has one. Someone else here may know. When you get the hood up and battery taken care of you will know about the pump, you will be able to hear it (or not). Sorry about your car. A 4x4 backed into mine last year.
