I need some info. I recently had my Rochester Q jet rebuilt. Well now the car is not running too good. The motor is a 455 big block. I bought the car a year ago, and to my knowledge some engine work was done. I know for sure it has a hotter cam, other than that I dont know any other specifics. I thought I would start by checking the timing and dwell. This seems easy enough, then if that checks out, turn to the carb. Under the hood the sticker says 30 degrees. I was told by a friend to set it at 32 degrees at 3000 RPM's. How does this sound. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Craig

That sounds close. Try 12 degrees at idle with the vacuum advance line disconnected, then hook it back up and see what it is at 3000 RPM. You may need a little more advance with the hotter cam for it to run at higher RPM's.

Pete.

Do you want this moved to either the General Tech or Other Cars forum? You might get more responses from those who don't frequent the C3 forums. ;)

Ken,

I posted a similar thread in that forum as well, but with slightly different title. I was hoping to get some responses there too, however none yet.

Thanks
Craig

Any suggestions out there?

Craig
