Need help on turning off F45 Suspension ?, What shocks? (for a friend) Needs ASAP?

Can and how to turn off the F45? Can it be done with a tech II? If so how?

What shocks do you recommend for a smooth ride to replace the F45 shocks once its been turned off?

A good friend needs an answer on the procedure (he has tech II) and what shocks to choose?

Thank you in advance.

Have a good one!

I don't know, but I too have the F45 suspension and have been warned of the cost of repair/replacement.

Its for a friend of mine..

Through the fantastic internet...I've given him the instructions someone was nice enough to send to me..I don't have f45 so I can't say if it works or not..but it should..

He was having him tech try this out over the next 4 or 5 days...and then install new NON f45 shocks..

Here's the instructional link I have given him.

Rain..you may want to save these for when the time comes to replace the expensive F45 shocks..

Hope this helps..and I'll let you know when he completes turning off the f45 from the computer and replaces the f45 shocks with bilstiens or whatever he decides to use..(non f45)

Congrats on your car btw!

THanks for the link and the heads up -
I was "warned" that it was an expensive repair.
(might have to sell my rims to afford it) HAHAHAH!

This friend of mine just took a buy out and he's out of work..

I think his cost is like 300 for the bilstein HD shocks, maybe a few bucks for the labor to install and turn off the F45 option..

I like the F55 concept where you can upgrade to a world class reactive system ...but at 2 or three grand...on his 1997 C5?

I'd say turn the f45 off and throw some Bilstiens in there....

I liked the car I drove with the f45 years back... but I'm not sure I'd spend the money to replace those bad boys ...

I have heard some people talk about rebuilding them..I don't know any more about it but I have heard people talk about it..

Maybe thats a way to go if its considerably less expensive than buying new..

Its a cool link. My buddy has yet to have this F45 turned off...His car is just sitting at his mechanics...
