Does anyone kow how to replace the C3 corvette window regulator spring ?
My saturday corvette work has come to a halt. This spring seems to be very hard to get on the way I am attempting it. So much so I can't seem to get it
on. Help Please if you have knowledge of the springs installaltion.

Thanks Saltydog

Raise the window till you can access the bolts that connect the regulator to the track on the bottom of the glass frame. Secure the glass either with wood clamped to both sides of the glass or "duct tape". remove the bolts to the window and the bolts holding the regulator to the door snake the regulator out thru the hole in the lower door panel. This is assuming you have the handle (if manual) and door panels off.

hey thanks for a reply Bossvette
Sorry I have electric windows.

Its the spring it self that I cannot get on.
I am not sure what the proceedure is.

Mine was a power setup manual may be different.
you will have to put a bolt thru the regulator frame and gear to hold against spring pressure. Then remove the motor you then can carefully remove the bolt while holding the arm to remove the spring pressure. reverse to assemble.
you should have the regulator assy in a vise.

Your saying that the spring cannot be replaced while the regulator is in the door.
That I must remove the regulator to install the new spring ? is this correct ?

yes it has been a while, but I think you have to dissassemble the regulator to do it and replace a rivot. I replaced the gear on mine 2 years ago not a real bad job and instructions came with the gear.

Thanks for your help I'll go now and try to remove the regulator as you said.
