Hi Everyone, My 2000 FRC Drivers seat is slowly breaking down under my Fat 340 Lb weight and bad right knee. It causes me to drop all my weight on the seat at about 12 inches above. Are there any suggestions for the build up at the dealer recommended upolstery shop Thanks............. Dr C5 Corvette

PS: Look at my avatar My Kitten is gettin fed up with them Pit Bulls next door.......:)

I admit that most of the time I get in mine like a girly-man. I stand outside the car facing 90 degrees to the left of front, and plop my butt into the seat. Then I bring my legs around. It is the "mini-skirt" technique.

HI there,
There has been updates to the seating cushions for both the base seat and the sports seats.
The cushions are not that expensive, I would replace them, and make sure the wiring underneath is not broken.
Allthebest, c4c5

Jim - I read this and......well let's just say I decided to let it go without a comment.

Hi c4c5, can you get me a part number for my 2000 frc with standard seats Thanks you............. Dr C5 Corvette

Hi there,
Drivers side seat cushion, bottom, 10272680 $61.03 / stock available
Drivers side seat cushion, back, 10272678 $54.22 / stock available
Wire support, drivers side seat bottom, 10272689 $4.30 / stock available.
Do all 3 at the same time. Your local Corvette specialist should be able to do the entire change in about 2 hours.

Ok! I just got to do it and ask (I know I shouldn't)

This explains the getting in part,

Then I bring my legs around. It is the "mini-skirt" technique.

But, how do you explain the skirt? ;) :L

Perhaps I should have said "kilt" rather than skirt! You guys laugh all you want. I was a college football player (lineman) and I am secure enough about my masculinity!

I'm glad I saw this post I am changing out my rocking chairs (adjusters) and have to disassemble the seat to do it. So while I am at it I am changing the worn covers (92,000 miles will do that) I just ordererd the pads and wires for both sides from here for just under $200 both sides you will probably need some retainers (10134407) also unless you are lucky ;)

the adjusters are the power seat assemblies click here and here

the retainers are little plastic fasteners that hold the black trim on the front of the seat adjuster sometimes you are lucky and can reuse them 10134407 is the gm part number. you have to dissassemble the seats to change the adjusters.

Ok Boss, Thanks for that Info................Dr C5 Corvette

Hey Boss I Forgot to ask, Do the adjusters snap back a notch when wore if you apply pressure when getting in the car or getting change for a toll and how much and where to get them? Thanks Dr C5

Would this be the same part numbers for 2002 with sport seats? Thanks.

Also, can someone give me the link for the procedure for fixing the rocking driver's seat? Much appreciated.

sorry I missed this earlier, I was lucky and found a both sets on Ebay that were removed by someone that converts C5 seats into office chairs. Buy the latest model set you can find as they made improvements over the years.
