Couple questions...
Where does one go to find 'Correct' p/n's for smaller parts? I am looking for some engine parts 63-64 327 x 365hp motor....I have several p/n's for each, but can't tell which is correct.
Anyone have this info available, so I can insure I am looking for Correct parts ?

Example:
1) Water Pump
2) Harmonic Balancer (8")
3) Thermo Housing
4) Air Cleaner
5) 6 qt Oil Pan

:confused :confused

you want "correct" part number info for your car, get the TIM&JG from the NCRS, great resource of every little bit of arcane info for what the correct part is, what is should look like, etc.

Thanks....I went to the NCRS site, but can't find a TIM&JG pub.....Is that short for a longer more meaningful name ?

I already have bought several books, but can't find the 'correct' p/n or the stuff I happen to have is so vague that it has left me dazed and confused for my specific application (365hp motor)

The TIM&JG is :
1964 Corvette Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide

Those "correct" numbers, if you find them, have gone through the wringer (superseded) many times if you are thinking of GM. I went through that drill when restoring a 1979 and working at a GM dealership with a savvy buddy in parts who helped me beyond what a normal consumer could expect. He did searches of GM depots and dealers in North America and some parts came up. But many did not: N/A or discontinued. Most such as engine parts (e.g. rads) were reproduced in Mexico. No problem with that as the fitment and finish was OK. Certainly better than some "Genuine GM Restoration Parts" from Taiwan that I contributed to a landfill.

Those NOS parts on Ebay and from some suppliers are from people who anticipated the originality boom some time in the past and snapped up those old parts many moons ago. They bought old dealer and GM inventory. And dealers were happy to get rid of the dusty parts.

So here we are today. I wish you luck in your pursuit of the real thing. They will be expensive.

Just to set the record straight, since I went through most of this parts searching as well, 63 carburated SHP engine was 340 hp. Different intake/carb/cam, and minor other parts. 64-65 carbureted SHP 365 hp engines were almost identical.

If you need some 64-65 part numbers, I have a few. The best guy to ask is Joe Lucia on the NCRS Forum. He is the master.
