Yes--they absolutely did between 70 - 72. Not sure on the number of roadsters vs coupes but the LT 1 Registry associated with this board probably has all the documentation you could want.
Yes the original owner put an Lt-1 intake manifold on the engine, and from what i can tell it was for clearance. Is this true? He has the original intake and the original exhaust manifolds. He will also include with the sale of the car the original hood. I did determine through the help of the LT-1 registry that this car is not an LT-1.

if i'm right the lt-1 had about 300 h.p. how did his non lt1 get 350 horse?? it's original mileage 90,000(time for rebuild)indicates it was never rebuilt so therefore never built up.
no mention of calipers??rear seals in the differential ??what kind of frame off restoration doesn't include a rebuild on a 90,000 mile motor???body mounts? universals?? seems like a paint job and a good helping of bull$hit to me.
please forgive me , but i'm 17,000 $ in parts in a frame on restoration.I just wonder how complete his "frame-off" job is. just my view, mike.
p.s. it says the hood was the owners preference.
Ah ha. Another internet story is born, soon to be quoted as 'facts'. The author simply assumed that LT-1s were built in the same ratio coupe/convertible as were other 70's. Pretty broad assumption. :eyerole
