Need info on new rims

I have a great deal on some new chrome rims for my 91 vette but they are 17x8,would these look stupid should l even consider them or just stay with the OEM rims would my 275/40/17 fit this rims.Not sure what to do any info would help Thanks Dann0

Don't do it.

The minimum recommended rim width for 275 tires is 9 inches. Your 91 came with 4 9.5" wheels. I would not put 275's on 8" rims and going to a smaller tire may look funny and cost you a lot of extra money.

It's only a good deal if they fit right and work - even free.

Now, if you know someone with a Camaro or Bird that would pay you extra for these wheels, then buy them and resale them.
