Hi all, going to look at an 84 vette. for sale. Listed price is $5,900. Anyone
have any advice as to the good or bad points of these cars? Would
apreciate any & all info. i can get from you guys.
Thanks, George.:beer
P.S. I'll get back with more info. on
this car for you.

I love my '84. So far no drawbacks to me. I mean I would rather have a C3 but I could not pass up the price. It was in great shape other than paint.

I think $5900.00 is a little high for an '84 though. IMHO

More info on the car would help with evauation.

84's are excellent cars. They are the roughest riding Vettes made especially with the Z51 suspension. My 84 has the Z51 and I installed KYB shocks on it and I find the ride very acceptable. I didn't buy the best Sports car in the world for its Cadillac ride. People will tell you the Cross Fire system is not the greatest and is a PITA but when it is set up correctly it is a capable performer.

When I bought my 84 I was not sure if I could like the C4 as much as the C3 I wanted. I had been swindled out of 4600 dollars and any hope of owning a C3 at that time. Early c4's were all I could afford and I found this one with 79k on it for 4900 needing brakes and shocks. I am now a C4 lover and could not imagine not having the razor sharp handling they offer. When new an 84 with the Z51 suspension was a minimum .95G car on the skid pad. Excellent by todays standards and phenominal by 84 standards. if the car you are looking at is in great shape and runs good then 5900 is a good price. I hope this has helped you.

Sorry guys but the 84 was sold yesterday:cry Guess I'll just have to keep
looking for a garage mate for my c3. Thanks for the advice anyway.
