I'm hopeing 67Heaven replies to this.

I need a machine shop to get the two broken Thermo housing bolts out, I have tried everything.

I am in the Pickering area, and looking for a place close by.

Thanks
Mart

Hi Mart

There is a place called Robinson Automotive in Mississauga on Brittania west of Dixie. It is run by Kirk Robinson who used to race Camaro IROC's years back . He also was a mechanic at one time for Ron Fellows Corvette team as well as other teams. He also hosts 'Auto Talk' on Rogers cable TV on Saturdays. I've used his shop for minor things. His shop is well equiped and he knows his stuff. He is not cheap. The downside for you is that he is on the other side of town from Pickering. Hope this may be of some help to you.

I'm not sure what parts you're referring to, Mart, (since I drive an "old" Corvette :D ) but have you considered drilling them out and using helicoils?

Thanks guys,

Yesterday I took the manifold to ARE Agostino Racing Engines, they said there should be no prob, come back tomorrow, well I went to pick up today and they had tried to drill out one of the screwsand went way off center and created a big hole, they said they will try to weld it and redrill then tap or helicoil.

I hope this saga gets better, but they sure had some cool vettes there.

Well this saga did not get any better, I called ARE at noon today and they said the guy has just starting to work on it.

said OK I'll call later, well I called and they said they had'nt had a chance to touch it.

Really disappointed I went to pick up the manifold and take it somewhere else, now it needs welding and the whole nine yards.

Anyway I went into Karbelt SC to get new bolts for the thermo housing and they mentioned a guy who welds aluminum, got there and he was really cool about the whole thing.

I think I'm in good hands this time.

I hate to really flame a shop, but Agostino was all talk, no action, I think that if it is'nt a big job, they don't really give a crap, I was thinking about using them for an engine rebuild, but no chance in hell now. I was ****ed at them for wasting my time and lying to me. Oh yeah if your car happens to be there now sorry but the place is a mess. You would be pretty lucky if you got the original parts back with the amount of loose parts lying around the ground.

Sorry for the rant but they P***ED me off big time.

On the other hand, the extra time has enabled me to get alot of other things done, did the fuel pump last night, easy as pie.

Pretty poor business manners to further mess up your stuff and then do nothing about it? Geesh.

What is wrong with people? :mad

I've been invited to participate in dyno runs there. Not likely to see me there now.

I agree about the poor manners, when I went to pick up the manifold I walked into the shop area and nobody even acknowledged me, so I picked up the manifold and walked out. I could have taken anything there were throttle bodys all over the place and complete set of lunati pistons in boxes and boxes of plugs and wires under my manifold, could have walked off with them all.

I did not make me too comfortable leaving my stuff there, never mind a complete car.
